Stephen Curry delivered a classic “Curry flurry” on Thursday night (27 February), hitting 12 three-pointers as the Warriors came back from 17 points down to win 121-115 over the Orlando Magic.
The 36-year-old recently minted Olympic basketball champion finished the night with a season-best 56 points, putting on a shooting display reminiscent of his eruption at Paris 2024.
Curry made 16 of his 25 shots, including 12 three-pointers, the most by any player this season. He was also perfect from the free-throw line, sinking all 12 of his attempts.
The evening’s highlight reel also included a shot from beyond midcourt to end the first half and a third quarter where Curry single-handedly outscored the Magic 22-21.
It was Curry’s 14th career 50-point game, tying the Warriors star with his US teammate LeBron James and Rick Barry for the seventh most in the history of the NBA. The 2025 NBA All-Star MVP was notably just one short of matching his career high for three-pointers.
At the end of the game, Curry sensed that something special had happened on the court. He gave his jersey to his mother, who had enjoyed a front-row seat to the action.
